In the above movie Bilaam’s hometown is not far from the Jordan river in today’s Jordan.
In Numbers Chapter 22:5 it says that “And he (Balak) sent messengers to Bilaam, the son of Peor, to Pethor, located by the River”. (If) Pethor is ancient Petora then it can be described to be today’s M339+WR, Aamârné, Syria, which is also by the riverbank and another river (see commentators on Pethor and other sources on Petora).
